Holy Land Schedule


        Day 1:  Wednesday September 18, 2024

  • Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv, Israel (If not coming with the pre tour in Egypt group up from the border crossing in Eilat)
  • Scheduled bus pick up or make your way to the hotel
  • “Welcome to Israel, Shecheyanu ceremony”

        Dinner and overnight: Tal Hotel, Tel Aviv


 

        Day 2:  Thursday September 19, 2024 Elah Valley - Jaffa - Tel Aviv

  • Worship on the Beach front – Mediterranean Sea
  • Visit Beit Immanuel, one of the first buildings outside the walls of ancient Jaffa. Throughout its colorful history, it hosted such people as Kaiser Wilhelm II and his wife Augusta Victoria.  The Church’s Ministry Among the Jews (CMJ) has used Beit Immanuel as a school for girls, commandeered by the British Army and later the Israeli army and in the 1970’s, it was the focal point of the emerging Israeli Messianic movement.  Beit Immanuel Church has seen many Jewish people come to faith in Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah.
  • Our travels take us to the Elah Valley where David slew Goliath (1 Samuel 17)
  • Our day concludes with a visit to Jaffa, considered to be the world’s oldest seaport and with both Old and New Testament significance including Jonah, Peter and Simon the Tanner (Acts 10)

         Day 3:  Friday September 20, 2024 - Caesarea – Muhraka – Nazareth – Jesus Boat

  • Checkout of hotel
  • Visit the ancient Mediterranean city of Caesarea Maritima, the capital of Judea under the Romans and northern home of Pontius Pilate.  It was here that Cornelius, the first gentile convert to Christianity came to faith (Acts 10).  See the impressive Roman Theater and aqueduct.
  • Drive to Muhraka and visit Mt. Carmel where Elijah confronted the priests of Baal (1 Kings 18) and look over the Valley of Armageddon.
  • Lunch with the Druze (an Arabic-speaking minority who live throughout the Middle East).
  • Continue to Nazareth, the city where Jesus spent his childhood. Visit the place of the archangel Gabriel’s visitation to Mary and the underground ‘Synagogue Church’ where Jesus read from the prophecy of Isaiah (Matthew 13, Mark 6, Luke 4)
  • Drive to Sea of Galilee
  • See the ancient “Jesus Boat” at Kibbutz Ginosar dating back to the 1st century CE
  • Check into hotel

        Dinner and overnight: Magdala Hotel, Sea of Galilee


 

        Day 4: Saturday September 21, 2024 - Mt. of Beatitudes  - Capernaum - Tabgha – Boat ride

  • Our day begins at Magdala, located on the western coastline of the Sea of Galilee. Magdala a recently excavated unique site in the Holy Land. Here we find a first century synagogue, a complete first century city and remains of a once prosperous fish processing industry. Complete with shops, marketplace, residential areas, and wharf, this is a city where Jesus himself visited and taught.
  • Drive up to the Mount of Beatitudes overlooking the Sea of Galilee and reflect on the Sermon on the Mount, in the idyllic surroundings at Har HaOsher (Matthew 5)
  • Continue to Capernaum where Jesus had considerable ministry.
  • Visit the remains of the 2nd century synagogue and the house where Jesus healed Peter’s mother-in-law (Mark 1)
  • Proceed to Tabgha, where Jesus restored Peter after the resurrection (John 21), the site of the miracle of the loaves and fishes and visit Church of Multiplication with its 4th century mosaic floor.
  • The day concludes with a boat trip on the Sea of Galilee, “O Sabbath rest by Galilee, O calm of hills above, where Jesus knelt to share with thee the silence of eternity, interpreted by love!”

        Day 5: Sunday September 22, 2024 - Banias – Tel Dan – Katzrin – Ancient Olive Grove

  • Sunday morning worship in a first century chapel
  • Visit Banias with its springs and waterfalls, the region of Caesarea-Philippi where Peter confessed the Lordship of Jesus (Matthew 16)
  • Journey to Tel Dan, the ancient location of the Tribe of Dan, consider the importance of ‘elders at the gate’
  • Visit De Karina chocolate store, Pelter Winery store and the ancient Olive Press
  • Drive down the Golan - Optional Jet skiing and other water activities on the Sea of Galilee (cost not included)
  • Enjoy St. Peter’s fish dinner at Amnon Bay (cost included)

         Overnight: Magdala Hotel, Sea of Galilee


 

        Day 6: Monday September 23, 2024 - Gideon’s Spring - Beit Shean – Shiloh - Jerusalem

  • Check out of hotel
  • Begin the day with a visit to Gideon’s Spring at Ma’ayan Harod (Judges 6)
  • Continue to Beit Shean with its recently excavated amphitheater. Consider the Biblical account of the battle of the Israelites against the Philistines on Mount Gilboa with Saul and his three sons (1 Samuel 31)
  • Bio Tour, located on Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu
  • Lunch en route with camel ride option (camel ride cost not included)
  • Journey to the ancient city of Shiloh where the Tabernacle used to stand. Consider the leadership of Samuel the Prophet (1 Samuel 3) and video in the overlook with view at the top of the hill
  • Travel to Jerusalem and make our entrance into the Old City

   Dinner & overnight: Gloria Hotel Jerusalem - a small, charming hotel right in the Christian quarter.

 

 

        Day 7: Tuesday September 24, 2024 - Mt. of Olives - Christian Quarter - City of David

  • Make our accent to Jerusalem, reciting the Psalms of Ascent, as we are welcomed to the City of the Great King (Psalm 48) Early start this day.
  • Visit the Mt. of Olives – including Church of Dominus Flevit, retracing the steps of Jesus on Palm Sunday, Garden of Gethsemane with private garden for prayers, Pater Noster – the Church of All Nations
  • Enter the Christian Quarter of the Old City – walk the Via Dolorosa with a wooden cross, visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher – the traditional site of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.
  • Visit the recently excavated City of David and the Pool of Shiloah (John 9:2)
  • Optional walk through Hezekiah’s tunnel (wet shoes required) carved beneath the City of David and the 2000 year old Pilgrims Way tunnel to Jerusalem
  • Dinner on own (cost not included)

        Day 8: Wednesday September 25, 2024 - Dead Sea – Qumran - Massada

  • We begin our day driving down towards the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth nearly 1,300 feet below sea level, as we drive through Jericho and visit the Sycamore tree of Zacchaeus (Luke 19) and consider the temptation of Jesus in the desert
  • Reaffirm our Christian faith (reciting the creed) at the Qasr Al-Yahud baptismal site
  • Visit the Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered and take an optional swim in the salty waters of the Dead Sea.
  • Continue to Massada, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and ascend by cable car to the fortress, which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans. Visit the excavations, King Herod’s palace, the synagogue, bathhouse and much more.
  • Return to Jerusalem

        Day 9: Thursday September 26, 2024 - Yad Vashem – Friends of Zion – Free Time

  • Begin our day with a very moving visit to the Holocaust Museum Yad Vashem, followed by a visit to the Friends of Zion Museum where stories of love and heroism are made alive using ground-breaking technology found nowhere else in Israel. Meet the biblical figures, academics, businessmen, and military officials who, through their faith, have forged an everlasting bond between the Jewish and Christian peoples.
  • Free time for shopping in new city
  • Evening prayer walk around the city walls of Jerusalem (optional)

        Day 10: Friday September 27, 2024 - Israel Museum – Jewish Quarter – Upper Room

  • Visit the Israel Museum to see the Shrine of the Book, model of Jerusalem during the Second Temple period and cradle of Christianity exhibits
  • Enter the Old City of Jerusalem and visit the Jewish Quarter including Western Wall and southern Wall excavations and conclude our day in the Upper Room where Jesus washed his disciples’ feet during the Last Supper (John 13)
  • Free time to explore the Old City

        Day 11: Saturday September 28, 2024 – The Sabbath - Bethlehem - Garden Tomb

  • Our day begins with a short journey to Bethlehem.  Visit the Shepherd's Fields in Beit Sahour (Luke 2) where they shepherds who saw the Star of Nativity and followed it to Bethlehem.  Visit Manger Square and Saint Aphrem’s School – a Christian mission in the heart of Bethlehem.
  • Return to Jerusalem and visit the Garden Tomb, a site of Christian worship and witness located in the heart of historic Jerusalem, just outside the Old City walls, which many believe is the site of Jesus of Nazareth’s burial and resurrection.
  • Final tour dinner at Notre dame rooftop restaurant (cost included)

       Day 12: September 29, 2024 – The Lord’s Day – Christ Church – Departure/Petra extension

  • Check out of Hotel and worship at Christ Church Jerusalem, an Anglican Church located inside the Old City of Jerusalem. This is the oldest Protestant church building in the Middle East.
  • Travel to Ben Gurion Airport for late night departure from Israel.

Holy Land Tour September 18-29, 2024 with Bishop Julian and Brenda Dobbs

  • Tour requires a minimum of 20 participants.
  • Israel tour is $4415 per person - based on double occupancy. (This does not include the pre-tour in Egypt.)
  • Gratuity for local guide and driver - $350 per person (Please submit gratuities with tour payment.)
  • Please pay your deposit of $600 per person to secure your place on the Israel tour when you register.
  • Roommates: Please provide the name of your spouse or the name of whom you would like to share a room. NOTE: That person will also need to fill out their own registration form and pay a $600 deposit to hold their place.
  • If you require a roommate we will do our best to pair you with an appropriate person (however this cannot be guaranteed).
  • Single Occupancy throughout the tour is available for an additional cost of $1474 per person.

Pre-tour in Egypt ITINERARY


Pre-tour in Egypt September 15-18, 2024

3 nights - 2 in Cairo and 1 at St. Katherine’s in Sinai


Day 1 Egypt: September 15, 2024 – Arrive in Cairo – Old Cairo – Hanging Church

Arrival Cairo international airport where we meet our local guide. Lunch and a visit to the area of Old Cairo and the hanging church. Transfer to our hotel.


 Dinner and overnight: Movenpick Media City Hotel

 

 

Day 2 Egypt: September 16, 2024 – The Pyramids – Egypt Museum – Dinner Cruise

After breakfast we travel to ancient Egypt with a full day of touring to the wonders of the ancient world, some of which date back to 1000+ years prior to Abraham. We will visit converts from Islam to Christianity, visit their homes and churches amidst the garbage city and meet courageous leaders who are serving the convert communities. We spend time at one of the seven wonders of the world - the pyramids. Cheops, with an original height of 496 feet, is the most colossal pyramid ever built.  Stop by a papyrus factory before a spectacular panoramic view of Cairo including the Egyptian museum.  Dinner cruise with show.

Day 3 Egypt: September 17, 2024 – Exodus Road – St. Katherine’s

After breakfast we drive through the Exodus Road passing by Elim and Mara including lunch on the way. Arrival St. Katherine’s.

Day 4 Egypt: September 18, 2024 – Sunrise on Mt. Moses – 10 Commandments – Tel Aviv

We begin with an early morning wake up call for those who wish to climb Mt. Moses where the 10 Commandments were revealed and where God’s voice was heard. After a magnificent sunrise we will start our journey descending. Breakfast and visit to the Monastery where Moses met his future wife. Drive to Taba and cross into Eilat. Drive to Tel Aviv.
